A residence designed for a family of five, a dog and a fish.
While appearing clean-lined and understated at first glance, the architecture incorporates refined, functional design elements throughout. The ground floor serves as the family's primary living quarters, accommodating all bedrooms, a family room, entertaining areas, the kitchen, and service facilities. The floor plan is strategically split at ground level: the master bedroom suite on one side while the children's bedrooms on the other, with all rooms opening towards the garden. The heart of the home—mirroring the central axis of the outdoor landscape—serves as the main gathering place, where the two wings converge. Outside, the grounds feature a expansive swimming pool accompanied by a dining terrace and outdoor kitchen, while the basement houses dedicated leisure and recreation spaces.
To maximize daylight throughout the day and across seasons, the roof structure is articulated across multiple levels, allowing natural light to penetrate from varying angles. These varying roof heights directly reflect the internal spatial hierarchy.
Built from bare concrete and white plaster, the house is characterized by a minimalist material and color palette. Warm oak joinery in the kitchen and surrounding areas softens the central living space, while a custom library—crafted from oak and light aluminum—seamlessly integrates into the home's subtle, refined aesthetic.
